In today's world, many companies don't share their histories. The reason is simple: New companies don't have histories! Quarasan does. Our history has given us outstanding experience—experience that we know how to apply as we create winning products in our industry.

Our staff members have diverse experience bases. Our orientation systems permit new blood to jump right in on content meetings that crackle. Quarasan balances creative fervor with an experienced understanding of what it takes to run a successful, entrepreneurial business. One look at our track record shows that we know, firsthand, how to soar to new levels as a team.

We've known all along about the merits of solid content. Quarasan was creating robust content long before content became a buzzword. Our history and experience in the educational marketplace are core ingredients of our power as a company.

In brief, Quarasan was founded by Randi Brill in August of 1982. Randi, a graphic designer, began the business in her suburban basement. She had exactly $57 in her checking account on the day she began. She was heavily armed with circa 1982 tools: a pica stick, two file cabinets, a blue Princess phone, and a typewriter (yes, a typewriter!) that didn't type the lowercase letter o! Her first month's billing was $200. Randi, always a visionary, says that she "saw many more zeros than were there—yet!"

In 1984, Quarasan had done well enough to move to a real office in Northfield, IL. Q had ten employees in a 1,700-square-foot space above 'see' level. In the basement, we could "see" only people's feet!

During the next three years, Quarasan broke through walls three times to add space. In 1987, the company moved its 25-person team to an 11,000-square-foot office in Northbrook, IL. In 1993, when Quarasan had topped 35 people, it was time to go where the action was: downtown Chicago.

Quarasan bought a building at 214 West Huron. It needed a little bit of work. (OK, a lot of work.) But then, we outgrew that space, too. Today, Quarasan is more than 80-strong. We reside in a terrific, completely new, loft-style building at 405 West Superior Street in gallery-filled River North.

There are a few common threads in our history: We know how to grow, plan, and thrive in times of change. The same entrepreneurial passion that founded our organization continues to drive it forward—with a difference: that energized power of one has been transformed into a stronger, more vibrant power of team, a team committed to excellence in the business of education.

Randi first chose the education marketplace because it sparked and challenged her as a designer. She was driven to solve design challenges for the most critical of visual/verbal connections: products created to educate others. Coupled with sound delivery of content, Quarasan honors and raises the bar on that initial vision today. Quarasan achieves results even faster and with tools much more effective than even Randi could have visualized back in 1982. Our commitment to the latest technology is reflected in our continuing investment in our team and our tools—to yield the best results.
